Day 1

From Becca M

Had a great journey to Soul Survivor, stopped to get food on the way, which broke the journey up a bit. Arriving at Soul we couldn’t find where we were camping and went round the one-way system twice. When we finally found it, we helped blow some mattresses and chairs up and helped put the last few tents up. Had a lovely BBQ for dinner, courtesy of Dave and James, and then went down to the Big Top for the first main meeting. Had lovely worship from Tom Smith, lovely rendition of the prodigal son from Mike and miming from his helpers and lots of people became Christians. Went back to the tent for Hot Chocolate and then went to bed. Prayer for noisy neighbours, that we can get to sleep, prayer for weather that it continues to be nice!

Prayer Points for Soul Survivor 2015

Please pray for us as we go to Soul Survivor from Saturday 15th to Wednesday 19th August 2015 (set up team going on Friday 14th).

Please pray for:

  • Deeper relationships with Jesus, whether some are making first commitments or whether maturing a life-long faith journey
  • Life-giving encounters with the Holy Spirit
  • Strengthening of friendships
  • Leaders to keep their energy and to give good pastoral care
  • The event organisers and for all they do to make Soul Survivor possible
  • The weather – we’re not expecting unbroken sunshine and we know there are some parts of the world really suffering at the moment but a break from rain would be appreciated
  • For everyone to have a brilliant time

Soul Survivor 2015

So in a few days time, we’re heading to Soul Survivor week B. We’re looking forward to hearing bad jokes from Mike, humungous hot chocolate mountains, a foam party, late night chats and generally a lot of fun. Please pray for us as we pack and prepare to go!

Welcome to our blog! We’re going to keep you updated about what is going on in the ministry of St Peter’s Youth, whether we’re at Soul Survivor or back in Yateley on a mayhem night… Clearly youth ministry involves lots of bacon, even more hot chocolate and we’d be nowhere without Jesus…
